The Story Of Nabbing Larry

As tired as I am, I was going to wait until tomorrow to write this.  However, I am so wired up due to the events of the day, I suppose now is ok too.

Last week, we received a message from a young woman who claimed to live in Washington DC.  We will call her Margot though we would LOVE to be able to tell you all who she really is.

We receive many, many emails every day from “insiders” who have information on Sinclair.  The overwhelming amount of this mail is dung and we delete it accordingly.  However, there was something about this writing….a certain frustration that could be detected easily.  Here is part of what she wrote:

I am a lurker and a fan and by no means at all a troll! I contacted DC’s metropolitan police department today regarding larry’s outstanding warrant from CO. I called 202-727-1000, who transferred me to its “dispatch” office, which in DC translates to the non-emergency police number of “311″.  They have a fugitive warrant squad who only focuses on locking up fugitives all day long. I told the dispatcher that Larry has an outstanding warrant from Colorado and he is soon to appear at the National Press Club to conduct a press briefing. The dispatcher told me was that I needed to call back on the day of the press conference when there was a witness to his presence at the NPC location.  The dispatcher also said that I need to provide lws’s description, i.e., height, weight, and what he’s wearing, and they “would lock him up.”

Is there a way to get a description early on of the clothing he is wearing at the briefing? While I work three blocks away, I have no idea when he will go into the building and I cannot sit down there all day waiting to see when, or if, he goes into the building.

Please, please, please believe me that I am not a troll!! Call 202-727-1000 to report that this fugitive will be in DC, they will transfer you to “dispatch”, and tell you what they told me earlier today (provide his description, and they “would lock him up.”).  I would love to see this idiot, lying, loser walked out of the NPC in handcuffs!  What a beautiful ending to this crazy story.  

There are several things in the email that have been deleted to help protect Margot.

However, as you can see, she seemed sincere and though we hear “I’m not a troll” at least 20 times per day, we still believed her.  Nan especially.

The phone numbers were easily checked and verified…adding to the validity of her story.

Knowing that many people want us to respond to an email for the purpose of tracking us is no longer and issue from Paris, so we skeptically answered the email.  We told her we would have someone there and that we would do our best to have a description, but it might be difficult.

At one point, Nan said “if he really bought a new suit, I bet he puts his picture up”.  She was half joking, but dead on as surely enough this morning we saw the photo.

We had stayed in touch with Margot, scared but hopeful to believe her.  We coordinated our strategy and informed the freelance reporter we had hired about Margot’s story.  Neither could be made aware of who the other was which was a little tricky.

Early today, we received this:

I know that lsw’s briefing is probably a big IF; that BS with his lost luggage is laughable, at best!  Just please make sure that as soon as you get info on what he’s wearing, you post something, using code even (e.g., the pie has cherries on top and whipped cream on the bottom = red shirt and white pants/shorts/skirt). MPD can be slow sometimes, so I want to get a call into them as soon and as quickly as possible. 

We sent the photo to Margot and were a little disappointed we did not hear from her (and had sent a few more frantic emails) until we received this:

Thanks, the cherry has landed on top of the pie.

Just before this, many of you may remember the three crazy post we made in comments….trying to signal Margot that we had sent the photo and were waiting for confirmation.

We called the numbers she had provided and were told a “unit” was on the way.  Sure, I thought.  And as I hung up, I got this email….one of the best I have ever received:

I called and they said they are sending a unit to the location. I’m getting in my car in 10 minutes to drive over there to see if there are any units there. I will report back in 30-45 minutes.

It was then I realized the absolute validity of this young lady and that our plan….based on the mutual trust of people who had never even met….was coming to fruition.  And a few moments later, we received this sweet news:

They may not have stopped the press conference but the police DID show up and TOOK him away! I was just at the NPC building and there was one only police car left by the time I got there. I talked to the guard and he said they took him away IN HANDCUFFS…although Larry might like that!!!

I hope you people realize the COURAGE and CHUTZPAH it takes to get involved.  I do.  It is easy to talk and analyze.  It’s another to start calling police, follow up and drive to the scene where a crazy man is.

Margot is AWESOME!  She is my new HERO and I wish I were able to tell you her true identity.  She is a fantastic person.

When she arrived close enough to the NPC, she even managed to get a PHOTO of the lone police car at the site with her cell phone camera.  We will post it tomorrow along with her own synopsis of what went down.  (Poor choice of words.)

She will not be able to post here until the smoke clears some, but she will certainly be reading and I would like to ask all of you to give her the recognition and kudos she so richly deserves.  She is AWESOME and was simply sick of watching the Fatty Tuna Douche run over people without consequences.

Margot…you are our kind of person and we appreciate you greatly.  You have great character and are admired.  If you ever come to France….you are welcome to stay at the world headquarters of The Mitch and Nan Show.  :-)
